“The Arrowhead
United Way (AUW)
Hosted it’s Third Annual
Magical Music
of MoTown.”
The Arrowhead United Way (AUW) recently hosted it’s annual fundraiser in support of a very worthy cause. It was the third annual Magical Music of MoTown. Hundreds of Arrowhead United Way supporters and fans of the legendary MoTown sound packed the historic San Bernardino Valley College Auditorium and were treated to a MoTown tribute that they will be talking about for a long time.
In addition the to an amazing musical performance, Dr. Gwen Rodgers, CEO of the Arrowhead United Way made sure several of the supporters went home with gift baskets and door prizes. Even the youth in attendance were thought of, as many of them won door prizes as well.
The annual Arrowhead United Way fundraiser benefits hunger relief and the San Bernardino Valley College Food Pantry. The Arrowhead United Way provides assistance to the community year round, that’s why these fundraisers are so important and needs our support. The United Way is known for providing food assistance to needy families, school supplies and hygiene products to youth as well as information on how to get other services.
Throughout the concert tribute many in the audience were up out of their seats dancing and having a great time, while singing along to some of the greatest music ever produced. No genre of music and no era of music is as celebrated as the MoTown Sound. The night of musical magic took the crowd on a journey from the 1960’s to the 1980’s. The crowd was treated to songs by the Temptations, the Four Top, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Martha and Vandellas, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and much more.
This is the type of fundraiser that supporters look forward to supporting every year. Everyone has a great time, they get enjoy some to the most iconic music ever made by legendary performers and it’s all for a great cause.
