Little Sunshine Foundation Fundraiser Raises Much Needed Funds For Underserved Youth

The Little Sunshine Foundation recently hosted its Little Sunshine Foundation/Sunshine Royale Casino & Music Night, which happens every two years. The sold out event was held at the Glendora Country Club, located in the City of Glendora at 2400 Country Club Dr., 91741, and the crowd enjoyed great food, great music, a lot of casino games all while supporting a very worthy cause. 

The   Little   Sunshine   Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3), was founded by Monique Vobecky in 2018, when she was just 14 years old. Her inspiration for starting the foundation was simple. She believed every child deserves a little sunshine. Especially youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.Youth who lack access to opportunities that many people take for granted. Vobecky is now a Harvard graduate and will be attending medical school. The Little Sunshine Foundation, which she founded in 2018, is still her passion project.    

The Little Sunshine/Sunshine Royale Casino & Music Night Fundraiser is a bi-annual signature event that brings together business leaders, community stakeholders, and good people who advocate and support providing opportunities for today’s youth. The evening is dedicated to expanding opportunities for children in the community while networking and having a great time. All the proceeds generated from the event support: college scholarships for graduating seniors, literacy and mentorship initiatives, leadership development, youth enrichment programs, and sports equipment for youth sports. 

The spirit of giving had a special meaning on the night of the Little Sunshine fundraiser for Chef Philip Bradley, a five star chef who provided a wonderful meal. Chef Philip shared his story about receiving a life saving kidney donation from a stranger, who was moved by the spirit of God. Many in attendance was moved to tears when hearing the story. What made it even more special was that his donor Omar Ayala was with in attendance. They are now life long friends

In addition to great food, music and casino style games, those in attendance also had an opportunity to participate in a silent auction and a chance to win door prizes. 

Some of the silent auction items and door prizes include floor seats to the Los Angeles Clippers vs the Golden State Warriors game. The Los Angeles Clippers package includes two (2) VIP floor tickets, VIP entrance, parking, food and drinks, and access to all the Intuit Dome lounges. Other door prizes and silent auction items included autographed jerseys, a baseball cap and football signed Washington Commanders quarterback and 2025 Rookie of Year Jayden Daniels, four (4) MVP seats to a Los Angeles Angels baseball game, an autographed football from the Los Angeles Chargers, a round of golf for two (2) at the beautiful Glendora Country Club, a one-night stay at Harris Resort, a one-night stay at Harrah’s Casino, gift baskets, and much more.  

Supporting this event will help to create a brighter future for deserving youth. Those in attendance are looking forward to the next Little Sunshine Foundation fundraiser.
