What exactly is Non-Alcoholic Wine?

Non-alcoholic wine contains little to no alcohol. It has similar flavor profiles, varieties, and smells, just without the alcohol. And may still contain small amounts of alcohol. Because of this, if you’re trying to avoid alcohol completely, you may want to also avoid these products.

How is Non-Alcoholic Wine Made?

Non-alcoholic wine follows the exact same steps as traditional wine, but during the last part of the process the alcohol is removed from the wine. The most common way to remove alcohol from wine is through a process known as vacuum distillation. Which uses heat to evaporate most of the alcohol in the wine leaving only trace amounts. By maintaining the highest heat possible without boiling the wine. The alcohol is removed thereby leaving all the original wine flavor intact.

Riunite Zero Red Semi-Sparkling NV

This delicious sweet red darling took me by total surprise with great pleasure!

Bold, sweet flavors of rich dark fruit and heavy frothy bubbles and made with Lambrusco grapes.

Riunite is well known for their sweet wines at amazing price points and accessibility in the retail market. Great nose and versatile for pairing with food.

Salisbury steak, ground turkey meatballs, chicken fried steaks, and blue cheese.

Serve on ice or enjoy right from the refrigerator, use it to make endless cocktails, and a lively pitcher of sangria. Check the website for recipes and their entire portfolio.

Maschio Zero White Sparkling NV

Cantine Maschio combines winemaking experience with innovative dealcoholizing technology to create Maschio Zero. Golden hues, fruity, floral perfume, dry and well-balanced. Lovely acidity and has a luxury feel especially in a Champagne flute.

A nose of fresh cut lemons, tastes of leche fruit, green apple, and a hint of fresh ginger. The wine is scrumptious and bubbles are active from the first pour into the glass. Produced with Glera and with other aromatic white Italian varieties, Grechetto and Muscat. Versatile and pairs well with shrimp dishes, pot stickers, salmon, and chicken salad. I enjoyed a few glasses with baked lobster mac & cheese.

A fantastic idea for a weekend brunch and a relaxing breakfast in bed.

LE BLANC Organic Dry French Bubbly

Crafted from organic French Chardonnay grapes, French Bloom Le Blanc is an alcohol-free sparkling dry wine that opens with a mineral freshness highlighted by notes of crisp pear. Balancing freshness and depth, French Bloom Le Blanc reveals a lively fresh citrus zest, followed by notes of fresh fruits. Creamy and silky on the palate, it gradually evolves into aromas of dried fruits, honey, and beeswax. A master class in producing a dry zero proof wine, a polished touch for special brunch and a night at the weekly book club meeting, and no worry about alcohol. Bring out the smoked oysters, baked brie cheese, and fried artichokes. This wine is a bit harder to find, but worth the search. Also available in a rosé version, they offer a full website of terrific wines.
