The passionate and high performing community service organization High Desert Pearls (Interest Group) has selected six local residents as recipients of its first service awards. The awards coincide with HDP program initiatives, named below and followed by the recipients. Enhance our Environment—Victorville Lion’s Club President Linda Titus; Build Our Economic Wealth—Millionaire Mind Kids Founder Delores Williams; Advocate for Social Justice—Barstow Mayor Pro Tem James Noble; Uplift our Local Community—Apple Valley School Board Member Maria Okpara; and Empower Our Families—Divine Interventions Founder and President James Campbell and LaKeisha Kidd-Campbell, NAACP president and vice president, respectively.

“Each honoree exemplifies the best of servanthood and care for their community and fellow man,” said HDP Fundraising Chair Janis Parker Pressley. “We appreciate their personal sacrifice and commitment to uplifting others, which align with our mission.”

The awards will be presented during the HDP fundraiser A Night Under The Stars, A Black Tie Sneaker Gala, September 30th at the Dolphin Estates, 20365 Rancherias Road, Apple Valley, CA. This will be a fun-filled evening with live entertainment, a silent auction, raffles, and an opportunity to learn about HDP programs and how to partner with the organization.

.Never wavering from service, while planning the grand fundraiser, HDP continues to address various community needs, and this month the San Bernardino Area League of Women Voters announced its selection of the HDP for its 2023 Civic Engagement Award.
