WHY:             On Saturday, March 5th, Senator Leyva and Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County—in partnership with Huerta del Valle Community Garden / Jardin Comunitario—will hold a community food distribution in Ontario for residents of the 20th State Senate District.

Immediately prior to the food distribution, the Senator will present a large ceremonial check for one million dollars to Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County.  Senator Leyva secured the funding as part of the state budget process last June.

CAPSBC works with communities by supporting, advocating for and empowering residents to achieve self-reliance and economic stability. The agency develops and implements programs that address the most serious needs of low-income residents of San Bernardino County.

The food distribution will be on a first come, first served basis.  To keep the community safe and further contain the spread of COVID-19, it is recommended that participants use a face mask and adhere to updated precautions and regulations.

For more information, please contact Senator Leyva’s Pomona district office at 909-469-1110 or the CAPSBC Food Bank at 909-723-1581.
