
Project Fighting Chance F.I.G.H.T.S. boxing team member “Terrible Terry” Washington, a SBCUSD student, was publicly recognized by the San Bernardino City Council as “Citizen of the Month” on August18, 2021. Councilmember Theodore Sanchez, Ward 1, presented the honors.
Additionally, on August 11, 2021 “Terrible Terry” was recognized in a mural by the Sierra Club “My Generations” clean air campaign. Ms. Yassi Kavezade presented.
Project Fighting Chance is a nationally recognized championship youth amateur boxing and afterschool enrichment program promoting the importance of reducing childhood violence, aggression and trauma + food insecurity. The 2020 California Nonprofit of the Year organization is located at the historic Home of Neighborly Service on the westside of San Bernardino, CA.
