We have some very exciting news regarding the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief program established by the COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act, the strongest-in-the-nation eviction protections signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom on January 29.
First, we are continuing to make preparations to bring the CA COVID-19 Rent Relief application portal online. The landing page is now online and is accessible by visiting HousingIsKey.com and clicking on one of the two buttons below. These pages explain what tenants and landlords need to do to prepare for rent relief, and will include links to the application once it’s online.
We are also making steady progress to establish a robust local partner network across the state. A total of 60 partner network organizations have been selected through Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), with a goal of having 100 organizations signed up by March 15. These community partners will be working closely with us to provide assistance to tenants and landlords, and to help connect individuals to the rent relief program.
We are still accepting applications, as our goal is to have 200 local partner network members. To apply please visit LISC’s application page.
