Dr. Rita Ramirez, Mayor Pro Tem, Victorville City Council, has announced her candidacy for Supervisor District 1 for San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. Presently, Dr. Ramirez is also the Regional Council Representative District 65th of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). She represents the cities of the High Desert in Los Angeles where economic projects, plans, and legislative laws regarding Southern California cities are discussed, determined, and approved for future legislature consideration in Sacramento.
As Supervisor, Dr. Ramirez believes that her first priority is employment, that is, jobs, more jobs, and better paying jobs for all the residents. She will seek to bring bigger businesses to District 1, the High Desert. But Dr. Ramirez is also aware of the need to have higher education available and accessible to everyone. There is a need to have a State University to provide qualified administrators for future businesses. But she also supports affordable housing for veterans, especially disabled veterans, seniors, and first time buyers. Another priority is a full-serviced hospital for the High Desert; no more traveling Highway 215. Lastly, there is a need for a Regional International Passenger Airport that will bring flights from Mexico, Central America, South America, and Asia. The American Dream and Equal Opportunities are all possible if you vote the First Tuesday of March 2020 for Dr. Rita Ramirez, Ph.D., for Supervisor District 1, High Desert, San Bernardino County.
