RIVERSIDE, CA. (August 6, 2019) — The Riverside County Library System (RCLS) would like to announce that the Woodcrest Library will be closing for a short period of time to make some improvements to the facility. The closure will begin on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.
The current facility is a total of 10,082 square feet and welcomes close to 173,000 visitors a year. With the rapid growth of the community and the demand for more program space, the library will be expanding the main floor and community room; enhancing the children’s room and teen space; replacing the floors and furniture; and creating a more welcoming entrance. The expansion will consist of approximately 1,200 square feet throughout the facility.
A full closure will be for a short period of time, estimating 3 months with potential partial openings during the project until the completion in the Spring of 2020. Please check the website (www.rivlib.net) for more information. All Woodcrest Library programs will be on hold during this time. Patrons may visit, utilize services, return and check out items at any of our other Riverside County Library System branches. Local branches include:
Mead Valley Library – 21580 Oakwood St., Mead Valley
Perris Library – 163 E. San Jacinto, Perris
The Western County Bookmobile will also be available throughout the community. For the Bookmobile schedule, please visit the website at http://www.rivlib.net. The schedule can be found under the “Branches” menu then “Western County Bookmobile”.
