“And in Hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime received thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldst send him to my father’s house: for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith onto him, they have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” [Luke 16: 22-24]. “He that hath an ear to hear, let him hear.”
Cain cried, “My punishment is greater than I can bear,” Genesis 4:13; Hebrews 9:22; Exodus 20:12. The people in Noah’s day cried “Let us in! Let us in!” [II Peter 2:5; Genesis 7:16; Hebrews 9:27.] Judas cried, “I have betrayed innocent blood,” [Matthew 27:4]. King Agrippa cried, “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian,” [Acts 26:28]. These people had resisted the call of God too long. They fiddled and played, and procrastinated. They put off their salvation too long. Don’t you do it! Don’t you delay! For there is great danger in saying, “Someday.” Because one of these days death will slip up on you and you won’t be ready, and it will be too late forever. For “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
I tell you time is running out! Paul said that it is closer than when we first believed. The night is just about to be over and it is day time. Wake up! You can’t continue to live like you have been living. “… Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” [2 Corinthians 6:2]. Don’t be like Lot. Lot lingered…When it was time for decisive action. Lot lingered…When Heavenly messengers were urging him to go. Lot lingered…When Judgment was Imminent. Lot lingered…. Stop lingering! Neither time, nor death, nor judgment linger. Decide for Christ before it is too late. For [Isaiah 55:6] says, “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” Procrastination can cost you your soul in the end [2 Corinthians 5:20–6:2].
Don’t put if off. Not tomorrow, next week, or next month, but do it now! Understand the choice that is before you today. Don’t get confused on such an easy and obvious choice. This is not a process to think through how far is too far. This isn’t a process to think through whether you should. God confronts you with only one question… What are you waiting for? David said in [1 Samuel 20:3], “Yet as surely as the LORD lives and you live, there is about one step between you and death!” [1 Corinthians 15:30-31] asks, “So why do you endanger yourself every hour?” Repent and be converted.
Help! Please somebody help me!
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set life and death before you…. Choose life…! [Deuteronomy 30:19].
