Things are not always as they appear fundraiser unmasks reality of modern-day slavery
LAS VEGAS – The B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation will host its 4th Annual Masquerade Gala, this year themed “Alice in Wonderland: Things Are Not Always As They Appear” on Saturday, February 9, 2019 on the top floor of the World Market Center Las Vegas. The event will raise money to provide protection, shelter, education, and support to victims of sex trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery.
“There are too many children and young girls in our community who are affected by exploitation, abuse and neglect,” said Kimberly Miles, founder of B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation. “Our goal with the Masquerade is to raise awareness about this vulnerable population and raise much needed funds to fight against this heinous crime while “unmasking” the trauma that many children and young people are experiencing.”
The event will include inspirational speakers, alarming surprises, personal stories, an alluring “purple” carpet, an Alice in Wonderland intrigue experience, VIP pre-party, mix and mingle cocktail reception, live and silent auctions, three-course plated sit-down dinner, and an after party.
Attendees will enjoy music and entertainment by: Scintas singer Janien Valentine; contemporary opera company Sin City Opera; the innovative David Perrico’s POP 40 band led by Award-Winning Composer and Conductor David Perrico; Clint Holmes grand-daughter and stand-alone singer Asia McCoy; aerial performance artist Delphine Gaillard; and a special guest performance.
To bring it all together, the evening’s emcee will be Global Media Personality, Award-Winning Syndicated Radio Host, and Professor Dr. Daliah Wachs. After running her family practice for more than 15 years, Board Certified Family Medicine Physician Daliah Wachs began to teach at Touro University Nevada. She also is a nationally syndicated radio host and TV personality and may be best recognized for her appearances on Pawn Stars and as a medical expert on multiple news stations.
