October 5 And 8 Are Non-School Days, But Learning Continues

colored pencils photoAll San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) schools, except Middle College High School and Inland Career Education Center (ICEC), are closed to all students on Friday, October 5 and Monday, October 8 for teacher training.

Although October 5 and 8 are non-school days, students can still learn at home. Students can watch Bill Nye, the Science Guy on Netflix or Mythbusters on Hulu. They can also check out a library book from the comfort of home. Anyone with a San Bernardino Public Library card and the free Libby, by OverDrive app (available from Google Play, the App Store, and Microsoft) can check out electronic books from anywhere with an internet connection.

Middle College High and ICEC observe a different schedule than other SBCUSD schools because of the unique nature of their student bodies. Middle College students are concurrently enrolled at San Bernardino Valley College. ICEC offers high school diploma and career education classes to adult students. Both schools will be open October 5 and 8.

Classes resume for all SBCUSD students on Tuesday, October 9.
