California State PTA Puts the Spotlight on Education for Candidates
California State PTA, in partnership with Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE) and ABC Channel 7, will host a Gubernatorial Education Forum on Friday, April 27.
WHO: Invited candidates include, in alphabetical order:
Travis Allen, California Assemblymember
John Chiang, California State Treasurer
John Cox, Businessman
Delaine Eastin, Former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Gavin Newsom, California Lieutenant Governor
Antonio Villaraigosa, Former Los Angeles Mayor.
Candidate participation was determined based on a variety of factors including polling averages from UC Berkeley’s Insitute of Governmental Studies (IGS). View criteria and forum procedures.
WHAT: The Gubernatorial Education Forum will put the spotlight on public education to learn more about each candidates’ vision for California’s public schools.
WHEN: The forum is Friday, April 27 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and will close promptly at 3 p.m. All media must be in place with no exceptions.
