Savage’s life hangs in the balance. Can you help?
Precious Beasley has already experienced the kind of heartbreak no parent should ever endure. Her son was murdered, and his case remains unsolved. The pain of that loss has been something she carries every day.
During that dark time in her life, Precious found comfort in her service dog, Savage. The red nose pitbull became more than just a pet—he became her emotional support, her protector, and a source of strength when she felt like she had none left.
Recently Savage ran away, and Precious was devastated. She searched desperately, calling shelters across San Bernardino County until she finally found him on March 9 at the Devore Animal Shelter.
But what she discovered next was shocking.
Shelter staff had already begun euthanasia preparations. Savage had been sedated and was moments away from being put down. At the last minute, the sedation was reversed and his life was spared.
After being released, Savage quickly became very sick with symptoms consistent with kennel cough. Precious says she asked the shelter for medication to continue treatment at home but was refused.
Now Savage is gravely ill and needs urgent veterinary care.
Precious is currently living in temporary hotel housing while trying to rebuild her life after the loss of her son. Despite her circumstances, she refuses to give up on the dog who helped her survive her grief.
Savage gave her hope during the darkest moments of her life.
Now Precious is asking for help to save his.
Every donation will go toward veterinary care, medication, and treatment for Savage so he has a chance to recover and continue being the support Precious so desperately needs.
Any support—whether through donations or sharing this story—can help give Savage a fighting chance.
