
(San Bernardino, Calif.,) The Annual Free Share and Care Day will be held at St. Paul AME Church in San Bernardino. on Saturday November 20 from 10-2, the Health Expo is a Co-Sponsored by IEHP will include SAC Health, dental exams, Covid Vaccinations for all age group appointments are still available.
Livestream Blood Bank will take blood donations, Arrowhead United Way is a sponsor of the church’s Medical Supply Ministry. Boxed food giveaways are provided for the Young Visionaries. The Aqua Caliente Clippers will be signing autographs.
The NAACP will give away cards for a major grocery store. There will be television give a way throughout the day. The event is a project of the Social Action and the Health Committees.
On Sunday the church will celebrate Family Caregivers at a recognition service that will be celebrated in morning worship at 9:30, both in person and on Facebook Live.
Special guests will include Assemblyman James Ramos, Councilmember Kimberly Calvin, and Eva Zamora, representing the Inland Empire Caregiver Resource Center. Rev. Betty Hanna Witherspoon will bring the morning message.
One thousand people a day are turning 65 in California and Caregivers are needed more than ever. Not only are Americans growing older it is important that they are able to grow older in their own home, rather than an institution.
Caregivers don’t always realize they are Caregivers; they just know their family member needs their help and many will do what it takes to care for them. “Recognizing Family Caregivers is important,” said Cheryl Brown, a member of California Commission on Aging, and Chair of the Social Action Committee at St. Paul AME. Rev. Steven Shepard is the Pastor of St. Paul.
