“To Be Given The Greatest Gift – The Right to Choose But Not Choose…How Tragic!”

You know, God could force you to surrender. He could make you submit. He could appear before you, force you to bow before Him, force your mouth to declare Him the Lord of your life. God could do that. But he doesn’t. He simply offers Himself to you as a choice. He offers His love to you as a choice.  He offers you his blessings as a choice. He offers his inheritance as a choice. But Naw, you want all that without committing. You are like Jacob wrestling with God. The only difference is Jacob was saying, I want you to bless me. And you are saying, Let me go! I want to live my own life. I tell you, you need to submit your will to God. Because whether you know it or not, the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.” That’s right! We were made for God. We were made to know God, to serve God, to love God, and to live forever with God. To be given the greatest gift, the right to choose, but not choose, how tragic!

I want you to know that Jesus told a story in [Luke, chapter 20] about divine judgment that would take the unfaithful and shatter them into pieces. Jesus announced in [John, chapter 5] that He would come in the end, and that there would be a resurrection unto damnation. He will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgment, retribution, punishment, full vengeance on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey God. [Isaiah 59:17; Ezekiel 25]. I tell you, to be given the greatest gift, the right to choose but you don’t, how tragic!

Revelation, chapter 6 ─“I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it’s rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. Then the kings of the earth and great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Listen, Joshua preached [Joshua 24:14-16] that man must make a decision to serve God or the world. You must choose who you will serve! The choice is up to you. God will not coerce you into serving him. It is up to you. You can accept or reject him.  Adam and Eve Chose Death [Genesis 3]. Annanias and Saphirra Chose Death [Acts 5]. The Rich Man Chose Death [Luke 16]… BUT Lazarus, Abraham Paul, and Nathaniel chose life! Which way will you choose?

“And as Paul reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.” But as far as we know, Felix NEVER found a convenient time, and he went to Hell! [Acts 24:25].

“Wherefore as the Holy Ghost saith, “Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. [Hebrews 3:7-13]. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. [2 Corinthians 6:2].

“All to Jesus I surrender, humbly at His feet I bow. Worldly pleasures all forsaken, take me Jesus take me now. Singing, I surrender all…. [I Surrender All – Israel Houghton]
