

Chef Basil, Army Veteran at 72,
just reached National legendary status for the following reasons:
1. Severely brutally gang raped and survived in boot camp as a
Veteran and still served his country.
2. Mental breakdown. Survived PTSD, ADD, ADHD, MIGRAINE HEADACHE (STILL HAS) 100% DISABLED.
3. Jail and prison 13 months, with a mental problem stemming from being Raped in the military, but survived.
4. Homeless for 12 years in San Diego and Los Angeles,
survived.
5. Cooked on the streets and in nightclubs to live and
survived.
6. National Hero Award Winner 2025.
7. LeCordon Bleu Culinary French Chef has cooked for over 4.6 Million Homeless Veterans & Homeless Families.
8. Donated over 240,000 Turkeys over 10 years.
9. Fought for battered women who have been raped or
bullied.
10. Has had a NAACP restraining order against him for
fighting to help bullied Veteran women.
11. Suspended from the NAACP for wanting justice for bullied Veteran women.
12. Has taken on Racism, United States Presidents &
Corporations against the people and still fight for
justice.
13. Has helped raise over 17 million dollars to feed the homeless Veterans.
14. Chef Basil has recently been chosen to choose which groups will win a $50 Million Veterans grant for 2026 to help take back the Democratic House because of his years of
experience, integrity, test of time, and his ability to
always fight for those Veteran Women who could not
fight for themselves.
15. There is a documentary being developed for television on The Story and Life of Chef Basil G. Kimbrew; “THE CHEF WHO FIGHTS FOR BULLIED VETERAN WOMEN.”
16. Was the only Black man ever in the history of the United States to be the First Black Chair of the California Democratic Party Veterans Caucus, and the first California Democratic Party Veterans Caucus Chair, and Co-Chair Veterans & Military Family Council of the Democratic National Committee at the same time.
Chef Basil’s wife, Lizet Angulo, has established a National 80 million database, and has 200 thousand phones, for phone banks nationally.
Finally, Chef Basil fought hard, organized Veterans, and assisted California Senate and Assembly legislators in the signing of SB 694. Gov. Newsom signed the bill outlawing fee-based organizations that help Veterans with disability claims today, February 10, 2026.
