California Stress Map: Ranking Work, Money, Health and Lifestyle Pressures

California has ranked among the most stressed states in America, according to new research from health insurance comparison service iSelect.
The study analyzed survey data from Americans alongside 28 national data sets, ranking each state from 1 (most stressed) to 50 (least stressed) across key stress categories.

Overall rank: 21st
Overall stress score: 49.3 / 100
Work stress: 49th
Financial stress: 7th
Education stress: 1st
Mental health stress: 38th
Relationship stress: 43rd
Health-related financial stress: 1st
The findings align with national survey results showing financial stress as the leading cause of emotional strain for Americans (50%), followed by lifestyle pressures (29%), health concerns (27%), and work or school stress (22%).
