One of the blessings of Christmas being at the end of the year is that it allows us to reflect back on all that God has done over the past year and give Him thanks for His faithfulness. [Psalm 77:11-12]. As I look back, I’m filled with gratitude and thankfulness for God’s grace and mercy. “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.”
“I don’t know where to start Jesus. God, I could have been dead, sleeping in my grave, but you saw different, you decided to save me. Thank you Jesus! I’m grateful. Truly grateful. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you Jesus. I love you Lord, and all my days I’m going to serve you Lord. Yeah, wherever you want me to go, I’m going to go, Lord. Whatever you tell me to say, I’m going to say. I’m going to move when you tell me to move Jesus. “Flowing from my heart are the issues of my heart, it’s gratefulness.” Thank you Lord for delivering me, for setting me free, for washing me clean, for loving me Lord, thank you Jesus. I got so much to thank the Lord for, I ain’t playing. I’m truly grateful, so grateful. Are you grateful for what the Lord has done? Why want you give Him glory.” [Grateful -(Reprise) – Hezekiah Walker & LFC]. “In spite of the storm, calamity, heartache and pain, I made it through…. “So glad I made it, I made it through. Tell somebody, I made it, I made it through…” [My Testimony lyrics Marvin Sapp].
Today, remember you are walking in the grace and mercy of the Lord every day of your life. It is only because of His grace and mercy that you were able to come through the things you experience. It was only because of His grace and mercy that you were not consumed when you messed up, and fell short of His glory. It is only because the Lord is slow to anger that you were able to make it out of the valley that you were in, and it is only because the Lord has plenty of mercy that you are where you are now. Don’t ever forget to be thankful for His grace and mercy that is continually working in your life.
Lord, You alone are worthy! I give you praises, thanks, honor and glory for Your grace and mercy towards me. Thank You for allowing me to awake this morning when so many have passed unto eternity. You have favored me with life yet another day, whereof I am grateful! Thank you for paying the penalty for my sins and for never turning your back on me! Too many times we all have come short of Your Glory, but You still love and care for us. We fail You and walk away from You, but You still come after us. Too many times we willfully sin, but You are always right there to forgive us and welcome us back into Your loving arms, again and again! Even when we take your mercy and grace for granted, You still give us more grace and more mercy! “Flowing from my heart are the issues of my heart, is gratefulness!” Thank you Lord for your GRACE and MERCY! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
